Wight Salads Group (WSG) was formed in June 2005 from the merger of 5 tomato producers. The objective of the merger was to generate synergies, concentrate operations and improve the level of service provided to customers.

 

RAR Group acquired 77% of WSG in july 2007 and today owns 100% of the share capital of the company.

WSG is a leading company in the production of fresh tomatoes with a 15% share of the overall British market and 55% of the organic tomato market. It is one of the largest producers of tomatoes under glass in the United Kingdom, the biggest in Europe in terms of organic production, and is widely recognised for the high quality of all its speciality produce.

Since the beginning of 2010, the company concentrates its nursery sites on the Isle of Wight (United Kingdom) and at Alcochete (Portugal).
